tmoxie Support

Contact support

For app or privacy questions, contact the support inbox.

You can also open Settings in tmoxie, then Help & diagnostics, then Contact support.

Include your tmoxie version, iOS version, what you tried, and what happened. Do not include passwords, private keys, or confidential terminal content.

For setup walkthroughs, use the tutorials or documentation.

Connect to a machine

tmoxie requires an iPhone with iOS 17 or later.

If a trusted host key changes, verify the new fingerprint with the machine's administrator. Remove the old entry in Settings under Known hosts only after confirming the change.

Sessions and Web Preview

Sessions are empty

Run tmux list-sessions on the host, return to Hosts, reconnect, and use pull-to-refresh. tmux sessions live on the remote host. Hosts without tmux can use the basic plain-SSH fallback.

App returned from background

iOS may suspend the SSH connection. tmoxie reconnects after the app becomes active. Keep work inside tmux so remote processes can continue while disconnected.

Web Preview fails

Web Preview supports HTTP services bound to the remote host's loopback interface. Confirm that the service listens on 127.0.0.1:<port> and SSH port forwarding is allowed. HTTPS preview is not supported in the current version.

Restore Premium

Open Settings in tmoxie, then Plan, and choose Restore Purchases in the Premium options. Use the same Apple Account that made the purchase and check your internet connection.

The seven-day trial makes no automatic charge. Premium is a one-time purchase. For billing or refund requests, visit Apple's billing and purchase support.

Dictation and attachments

Dictation needs microphone permission, speech recognition permission, and on-device recognition support for your device and language. You can continue typing if dictation is unavailable.

Photos and files you upload are sent to the connected machine. They are temporary remote attachments and may be removed during later uploads. Keep a separate copy of files you need.

Share diagnostics

In Settings, open Help & diagnostics and choose Send diagnostics. Review the bundle before you share it. The bundle can contain connection details, logs, device information, and an existing terminal recording.

If support asks for a terminal capture, use Diagnostic tools to enable recording and reproduce the issue. Recording can contain sensitive terminal output. Turn recording off and use Clear byte recording when you finish. Clear debug log removes the local app log.

Remove your data

Delete a saved host from the host list to remove the saved connection and request deletion of its Keychain password. Remove trusted fingerprints separately in Known hosts. Clear diagnostics in Diagnostic tools.

Deleting the app removes its local app container, including the saved agent inbox. Remove saved hosts first, because iOS Keychain items may remain after app deletion. Local deletion does not stop remote sessions or remove remote files.

To remove uploaded attachments, delete the files in ~/.tmoxie-uploads on your connected machine. Also manage copies retained by your agents or other services.

See the privacy policy for the full data overview.
